Hi, I'm Jiong.
I'm a software engineer based in Irvine, CA.
My journey in tech has equipped me with expertise in modern web technologies. I'm particularly interested in creating accessible, human-centered applications.
I'm actively seeking internship opportunities for Summer 2025. Please reach out if you think I'd be a good fit!
My journey into software engineering started in an unexpected place: biology.
While pursuing both my BS and MS in Biology, I discovered that coding was essential for tasks like data analysis and visualization. However, I noticed a gap—most biology programs didn't offer sufficient training in these areas, leaving many students struggling. Witnessing this firsthand sparked my curiosity about technology and inspired me to pivot toward solving real-world problems with code.
Now, as a Master's student in Computer Science, I combine my interdisciplinary background with my passion for building impactful solutions. My projects always start with understanding the user's needs and working toward practical, impactful solutions.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, hanging out with my pups Waffle and Yumi, and skiing.
My Coding Philosophy
01
Solve real needs
I focus on building solutions that stem from genuine problems, ensuring every project has a meaningful impact.
02
Collaborate
Collaboration and feedback are integral to my workflow. I believe the best solutions come from iterative improvements and teamwork.
03
For everyone
I'm passionate about creating tools and platforms that lower the barriers to entry, making technology approachable for everyone.
04
Learn and experiment
Each project is an opportunity to learn something new. Not everything works out, but it's worth trying - and learning from what doesn't.
